Do you want to collect payments on your website, share a fundraising campaign on social media or send payment reminders for membership fees by email, or messaging app? Then you are exactly the right place!
There are two ways to get your supporters to your payment or donation form online: You can use buttons or links called PayLinks.
You’ll find all the campaign advertising options described here once you’ve created a touchpoint solution in RaiseNow Hub Simply click on "details" and then on “advertise”.
If you don’t have a RaiseNow Hub account yet, you can create one here in just a few minutes.
Online use cases
Depending on your situation, you can use a PayLink, QR code or TWINT button online.
Please note that PayLinks are currently unavailable for TWINT QR Pay solutions with a fixed amount.
On your website
Website with the same content for desktop and mobile
In this scenario, it’s best to use the PayLink button for both desktop and mobile. That way, users of both screen sizes can simply click on the button to reach the payment form.
We don’t advise you to use the QR code as an image file in this case, because you can’t scan it with your cell phone while displaying it. In this case, a button you can press on is the most user-friendly option.

Website with different content for desktop and mobile
Here, you can use the TWINT QR code as an image file on the website. However, for the mobile version we’d use the button, as you can’t view and scan the QR code on a cell phone.
You can also simply combine the two, using both the button and the QR code as an image file (which you can also format as a link, in case someone clicks on it). That way, users on both mobile and desktop have a smooth donation or payment experience.
PayLink button: Light version for dark backgrounds
In general, it’s important to make sure the button can be seen easily. That’s why we recommend using the black button on light backgrounds and the white button on dark ones. Here are a few examples:
Using your own button or link
If you can’t add the button or the TWINT QR code as an image file to your website, you can also add a text link or your own button in exceptional circumstances. If you want to do that, please note the following: You can customize the text link or button to your own design, but we ask you to use one of the following text options in case you chose a TWINT solution:
- Pay with TWINT
- Donate with TWINT
For the link, please use the relevant PayLink from your touchpoint solution.
In emails and newsletters
In emails or newsletters for your supporters it’s best to use the button for HTML emails. Here you can find out how to add it to your emails.
As an alternative, you can use your own buttons or links as you would on your website. We ask you to use one of the two following text options in case you chose a TWINT solution:
- Pay with TWINT
- Donate with TWINT
For the link, please use the relevant PayLink from your touchpoint solution.
On social media
Whether Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or LinkedIn, every social media channel has particular things you need to bear in mind.
Facebook allows you to share links directly in a post. This means that you can insert the PayLink straight into the text, and your supporters will go directly to your payment or donation form with a single click.
As an alternative, you can post your TWINT QR code as an image file. In that case, please include the PayLink, too, so users on mobile devices can also make payments.
By the way, if you don’t have your own website, simply enter the PayLink in the contact details of your Facebook profile, under “Website”. Because if you add an info section to your payment or donation form, with an image and some text, you’ve basically got a little website with an integrated payment form. Here you'll find detailed information on how to create and configure a Touchpoint-solutions.
Unfortunately, Instagram doesn’t allow you to insert external links into posts. But there are still ways to use PayLinks on Instagram.
For instance, you can share your call for donations in a story. There, you can add a link. It’s best to use the PayLink for that, so that you can link straight to your payment or donation form.
In general, you can also add the link to your Instagram profile, so that your supporters will always be able to find the form.
We only recommend using a TWINT QR code as an image file on Instagram if you also display a PayLink right next to it. Otherwise, supporters using mobile devices won’t be able to access the donation form.
By messaging app
Do you want to send a call for donations or payment reminders for membership fees via SMS, WhatsApp or another messaging app? Then it’s best to use the PayLink to send your supporters straight to your donation or payment form.
You can make your links even more personal by customizing them using parameters. For example, you can pre-fill the name or enter certain amounts. More about that in the next section.

Parameters make it even more personal
Would you like your supporters to land on a pre-filled form and be able to pay with a single click? Then parameters are just what you need! You can pre-fill parameters such as “first name”, “last name”, “email address”, etc. You can also predefine the amount, or even suggest a few different ones. The most efficient way to use PayLink parameters is with a newsletter tool that supports parameters. In individual cases you can also generate the personalized URLs manually. Find out how manual parameters work.
