This article explains how to offer SEPA Direct Debit for one-off and recurring payments and donations via Stripe in RaiseNow Hub, and what to do if the payment method is not yet active.
Overview
Organisations that collect payments or donations in EUR can offer SEPA Direct Debit via Stripe in RaiseNow Hub. The payment method is available for both:
One-off payments and donations
Recurring payments and donations (subscriptions)
SEPA Direct Debit requires a specific activation and verification by Stripe. If the payment method appears as inactive in RaiseNow Hub, additional steps in your Stripe account are usually required.

Complete the required Stripe verification
If SEPA Direct Debit is shown as inactive in RaiseNow Hub, Stripe has not yet completed the required verification for your organisation. To activate SEPA Direct Debit, you must complete the necessary steps directly in your Stripe account.
Tax and organisation details
In your Stripe account, provide the required organisation details:
If your organisation does not have a commercial register number, enter 0 in the Commercial register number field (for example:
00000000).Entering a VAT ID is optional, but if you have a VAT ID but no commercial register number, enter the VAT ID to support Stripe’s verification process.
After entering the details, Stripe will ask you to upload a document that confirms your organisation’s name and address. Accepted documents include, for example:
A utility bill
A bank statement
Articles of incorporation
Articles of association
Before uploading the document, make sure the organisation name and address in your Stripe account match the information shown on the document.
Upload verification documents
If further verification is required:
Open the Settings in your Stripe account.
Click Edit under Company details.
Update the company information if needed.
Click Start upload.
Select the relevant document (or Other, if applicable).
Upload the document and click Submit.
Stripe usually reviews the document within 24 hours. You will be notified if additional information is required.

Note: If your Stripe account was created directly through RaiseNow Hub (Managed Stripe account), activation by RaiseNow may be required. |
Configure SEPA Direct Debit in RaiseNow Hub
Once Stripe has successfully activated SEPA Direct Debit, you can enable it as a payment method in your Touchpoint Solutions in RaiseNow Hub.
Only for RaiseNow Growth customers
Once SEPA Direct Debit has been successfully activated in your Stripe account, please contact our Customer Success team so we can configure this payment method in your custom Tamaro widget.
When contacting us, please make sure to include the following information:
- Name of your organisation
- Your email address
- Subject: Enable SEPA Direct Debit in Tamaro widget
