How to use the QR payment slip TWINT extension

This article explains how to add TWINT as a payment option to QR payment slips. It covers the requirements, setup process, QR code configuration, and important recommendations for testing and design.

Overview

The RaiseNow TWINT extension allows supporters and members to pay QR payment slips using the TWINT app in addition to their banking app.

By extending QR payment slips with TWINT, you can provide a more convenient payment experience while benefiting from additional supporter data and tracking capabilities.

What you get

• TWINT as an additional payment method on QR payment slips
• Support for payments through both banking apps and the TWINT app
• Personalised donation forms using payer information from the QR payment slip
• Payment tracking in RaiseNow Hub using QR payment slip reference numbers
• Optional collection of additional supporter data, such as:
  • Email address
  • Marketing consent
  • Donation tax receipt preferences

Requirements

Before you begin, make sure you have:

• A RaiseNow Hub account
• An active TWINT Payments Plus or TWINT Donations Touchpoint Solution
• A third-party application capable of generating QR payment slips, such as:
  • CRM systems
  • Invoicing tools
  • Lettershop software
  • Web applications

Before you start

To use the TWINT extension, you must first create and configure a supported Touchpoint Solution.

Supported solution types:

• TWINT Payments Plus
• TWINT Donations

Once your Touchpoint Solution is ready, you can extend your QR payment slips with TWINT.

How to extend a QR payment slip with TWINT

Step 1: Open your Touchpoint Solution

1. Log in to RaiseNow Hub.
2. Go to Touchpoint Solutions.
3. Select Solution Overview.
4. Open the TWINT Payments Plus or TWINT Donations Touchpoint Solution you want to use.
5. Click Details.

Step 2: Open the QR payment slip extension settings

1. Open the Promote section.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
3. Locate Extend your QR payment slip with TWINT.

4. Click Show more.

Step 3: Copy the integration parameters

You will see two parameters:

• Alternative scheme parameter 1
• Alternative scheme parameter 2

Add them to the QR payment slip payload as follows:

Alternative scheme parameter 1

Copy the value and insert it into:

• Line 33 of the QR payment slip payload

Alternative scheme parameter 2

Copy the value and insert it into:

• Line 34 of the QR payment slip payload

Alternatively, you can insert Alternative scheme parameter 2 into:

• Line 30
• Line 32

depending on your QR payment slip implementation.

Step 4: Generate the QR payment slip

Use your third-party application to generate the QR payment slip.

The QR code payload should now include the RaiseNow TWINT parameters.

Once generated, the QR payment slip can be scanned using:

• Banking apps
• The TWINT app

Test the QR payment slip

Verify that:

• Payments work through the banking app
• Payments work through the TWINT app
• The donation form behaves as expected
• Supporter data is displayed correctly

Donation form behaviour

The donation form automatically adapts based on the information contained in the QR payment slip.

Amount handling

When an amount is defined in the QR payment slip

The amount from the QR payment slip is displayed.

The preselected amount configured in the Touchpoint Solution is ignored.

When no amount is defined in the QR payment slip

The preselected amount from the Touchpoint Solution is displayed.

Personal data handling

All supporter data fields configured in the Touchpoint Solution are hidden and replaced by read-only information from the QR payment slip payload.

Exceptions

The following fields can still be displayed as editable fields:

• Email address

You can also enable:

• Email marketing consent
• Donation tax receipt preferences

These options remain available to supporters within the donation form.

Application examples

Depending on your use case, you can extend QR payment slips with:

• Fixed donation amounts
• Predefined donation amounts
• Custom supporter data
