This article explains how to test a TWINT QR code before using it in printed advertising material. Testing ensures the QR code works correctly and has not been altered during the design or printing process.
Overview
Before printing flyers, posters, or other advertising materials with a TWINT QR code, you should always test the QR code. This helps ensure that the code remains readable and that payments can be completed successfully.
Testing is especially important to avoid issues caused by:
Distortion or compression
Colour changes or transparency
Incorrect placement or cropping
Only live payments are supported for testing. TWINT payments cannot be tested in test mode.
How it works
Step 1: Download the TWINT QR code
Go to Touchpoint Solutions → Solution overview in RaiseNow Hub.
Open the relevant Touchpoint Solution.
Go to Details → Promote → QR code.
Click Download.
Use this file as the source for your advertising material.
Step 2: Add the QR code to your design
When integrating the TWINT QR code into your advertising material, make sure you do not:
Distort or compress the QR code
Crop the QR code or separate it from the TWINT logo
Use transparency or layer effects
The QR code must be used exactly as provided to ensure functionality and compliance with TWINT guidelines. Check this article for detailed design and usage rules : Style guide for RaiseNow TWINT QR codes.
Step 3: Test the digital version
Finalise your digital advertising material.
Scan the TWINT QR code using the TWINT app.
Complete a real payment using a small amount, for example CHF 0.30.
Check that the payment appears in the Dashboard in RaiseNow Hub.
If the payment fails, refer to this article on failed payments for further guidance : Why payments can fail – and why that is normal.
Step 4: Test the printed version
Print a test copy of the advertising material.
Scan the printed TWINT QR code with the TWINT app or a banking app that supports TWINT.
Complete another payment.
This step confirms that the QR code also works correctly in printed form.

Tip: If both the digital and printed tests are successful, the TWINT QR code has been integrated correctly. You can now print and use the advertising material as often as needed. |
