Every Touchpoint solution in Hub has a status that tells you whether it can currently receive donations and payments. This article explains the four statuses, what you can do in each one, and what happens to your existing subscriptions and promotion channels.
Overview
A status is simply the current state of a solution — is it live, still being prepared, or switched off? You can see the status in the Status column of your solution list, and on the Solution details card of each solution.
There are four statuses:
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Active | Live and publicly available. Supporters can make transactions. |
| Draft | Saved but never published. Not visible to the public. |
| Inactive | You switched it off. Can be reactivated at any time. |
| Suspended | Switched off automatically because no payment methods are available |
The two tabs in your solution list
Under Touchpoint Solutions → Solution overview, your solutions are split across two tabs:
- Active — contains your Active and Draft solutions
- Inactive — contains your Inactive and Suspended solutions
The number next to each tab shows how many solutions it contains.
Active
The solution is live. It is publicly reachable through your promotion channels and landing pages, and supporters can donate and start subscriptions.
What you can do: Details · Edit · Preview · Duplicate · Deactivate
Impact
- New donations: accepted
- Subscriptions: can be created and cancelled, and existing ones run normally, payment methods can be updated
- Promotion channels: all channels work and can be used
Typical use: a running campaign or an ongoing membership collection.
Draft
A solution you have saved but not yet published. It is not reachable by the public.
What you can do: Edit and finish the solution, then publish it to make it Active.
Impact
- New donations: not possible
- Subscriptions: none exist, and none can be created
- Promotion channels: not available — a draft has no public link yet
Typical use: preparing a campaign that isn't ready to launch.
| Note: Draft solutions cannot be deleted yet. Deleting solutions is planned for a later release. |
Inactive
You deactivated the solution yourself. It no longer accepts new donations and it moves to the Inactive tab.
What you can do: Details · Edit · Duplicate · Reactivate
You can keep editing an inactive solution — useful if you want to prepare it for the next campaign before making it live again. Your changes apply as soon as you reactivate it. The Settings tab also stays editable, because notification emails still apply to subscriptions that are being processed.
Impact
- New donations: not possible
- Subscriptions: existing subscriptions stay active and continue to be charged as scheduled. You can change the amount in Hub or cancel them. Supporters cannot update their payment method.
- Promotion channels: Any links or QR codes you already shared no longer work, so stop sharing them.
- Shop: You cannot order QR code stickers for inactive solutions
- Transactions: all past transactions and statistics remain available.
Typical use: pausing a campaign that has finished or that you intend to bring back later.
Deactivate a solution
- Go to Touchpoint Solutions → Solution overview and open the Active tab. (You can also do this from the solution's detail page.)
Select the … menu on the solution's row and choose Deactivate.
Read the confirmation dialog "Deactivate Touchpoint Solution?", tick I have read and understand the implications, and select Deactivate.
- You'll see the confirmation "Touchpoint solution has been deactivated" and the solution moves to the Inactive tab.
Reactivate a solution
- Open the Inactive tab.
- Select the … menu on the solution's row and choose Reactivate.
- Confirm with Activate in the "Reactivate Touchpoint Solution?" dialog.
The solution is live again immediately, moves back to the Active tab, and its promotion channels work as before.
Suspended
Coming soon: The Suspended status is being rolled out. Until then, automatically deactivated solutions appear as Inactive. |
The solution was deactivated automatically, not by you. This happens for example when a payment provider is disconnected and the solution is left without any payment methods.
What you can do: Details · Edit · Duplicate
You cannot publish a suspended solution yourself. Reconnect the payment provider, reactivate payment methods, and the solution can go live again.
Impact
- New donations: not possible
- Subscriptions: existing subscriptions stay active and continue to be charged as scheduled. You can change the amount in Hub or cancel them. Supporters cannot update their payment method.
- Promotion channels: not accessible while the solution is suspended.
- Transactions: all past transactions and statistics remain available.
Typical use: a payment provider such as PayPal was disconnected, so every solution that relied only on that provider was switched off.
Quick overview
| Active | Draft | Inactive | Suspended | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shown in tab | Active | Active | Inactive | Inactive |
| New donations | Yes | No | No | No |
| Existing subscriptions keep running | Yes | – | Yes | Yes |
| Promotion channels available | Yes | No | No | No |
| Can be edited | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Can be made live again | – | Publish | Reactivate | Reconnect payment provider |
| Important: Deactivating a solution never affects existing subscriptions — they continue to be charged as scheduled. If you want to stop a subscription, cancel it directly. |
