As Growth Customer you have a Growth Package with either Growth Plan 1, Plan 2 or Plan 3. Each of these plans comes with a different Software as a Service fee that we bill yearly. Additionally you will receive a monthly invoice where we bill the transaction fee based on your gross donation revenue.
In this article we want to break down for you how we calculate the amount you will find on your invoice statement to be as transparent as possible and make our invoices a little more comprehensible.
Depending on your Growth plan the exact percentage of the transaction fee differs.
Plan 1: 4.4%
Plan 2: 1.9%
Plan3: 0.5%
We calculate the percentage share for every online transaction that was actually sent to your bank account - in terms of the RaiseNow Manager, that is every online transaction that has the status final_success. It is important to note that we differentiate between actual online transactions and offline transactions (which you can still see in the RaiseNow Manager).
So what do we mean when we use these two terms?
Online transactions:
All transactions that we can say with 100% certainty were successful. These are transactions made with online payment methods that have gone through a payment service provider and acquirer which inform us about the status of the transaction in real time.
Payment methods that fall into this category are: Credit Cards, PayPal, Twint, PostFinance Card, PostFinance E-Finance, Sofort/Klarna
Offline Transactions:
Transactions that are not a "real" payment but an online pledge to make a donation do not fall into the category that the Growth Plan transaction fee is applied to. These are transactions made with Payment Slip or Direct Debit (DD) for example. The donor requested/downloaded the Payment slip / DD form and it is marked as a successful transaction in the RaiseNow Manager - but RaiseNow does not know if the money was actually transferred to your bank account.
For this type of transactions our Coin packages apply, which you will find on your initial invoice for the first yearly fee and will be billed again when all Coins have been used up.

Direct Debit transaction: 5 coins
Now, to understand the price on your monthly transaction fee invoice, just filter for the payment methods in the RaiseNow Manager that are actual online payment methods such as explained above and have been successful. Our billing system takes our percentage share of each individual successful online transaction and adds them all up to the final number. Rounding explains why the final amount can slightly differ from just taking the percentage fee from the monthly total.
