In RaiseNow Hub, you have the option to set the parameters Campaign ID and Campaign Sub-ID on your touchpoint solutions. It is currently not possible to set additional parameters in RaiseNow Hub. Read more here.
With your donation forms (Tamaro widgets), it is possible to set additional parameters like for example the donation purpose or any parameter you would like to store with the transaction. Those are called "RaiseNow Parameters" and "Custom Parameters". They are stored on the transaction and are displayed on the transaction details card:
The following parameters will be displayed:
- RaiseNow parameters: those parameters are added by us and include information about the product version, source or any additional information that might be relevant for the payment and donation process.
- Custom parameters: are parameters you can set in your Tamaro widget. You can set as many parameters as you like, as long as they follow the pre-defined structure (read more about it here)
You can also export this information by ticking the “Include RaiseNow / Custom Parameters” checkbox:
Ticking this checkbox will trigger all parameters to be added to your export file. We urge you to be careful using this functionality if you import your data to a CRM. Only those parameters that are available for the transactions that are selected, will be added to your export file. This means depending on the transactions, your export file might look different with every export.
Let’s look at an example:
You run an end-year campaign with a specific widget. All transactions made during this time have the parameter: custom_parameters.{endyear} attached to it. So exporting any transaction made during that time will include this parameter and automatically add it at the end of the export file.
If you make an export again a few weeks later, excluding the year-end date range, the new transactions might not have this parameter attached to them. Ticking the checkbox will add only the existing parameters, so the column that existed in the previous export file, will not exist here anymore.
This can cause issues if you import these files to your CRM or clubsoftware. We urge you to handle this checkbox carefully with files that are synchronized with third-party systems.
