What are Advanced Parameters
In addition to basic transaction information, RaiseNow also allows you to include additional metadata when exporting transaction data, known as Advanced Parameters. These parameters are particularly useful if you’re running multiple campaigns, tracking donation purposes, or integrating data with external systems such as a CRM. There are three types of Advanced Parameters: RaiseNow Parameters, Supporter Parameters and Custom Parameters.
RaiseNow Parameters
RaiseNow parameters are system-generated values that include technical details like product version, source, or other metadata that is automatically attached to a transaction and configured by RaiseNow. These provide useful context like information that might be relevant to the payment and donation process.
Supporter Custom Parameters
Supporter parameters are parameters that are tied to the supporter. Most of these parameters are already visible in Hub, but you can define your own supporter parameters, which will not be shown by default.
Custom Parameters
Custom parameters, on the other hand, are parameters that you can create and offer added flexibility and tracking capabilities to empower your fundraising. These can include anything from campaign tags to specific donation purposes. Learn more about Custom Parameters in our technical documentation.
How to set Advanced Parameters
RaiseNow Hub
In RaiseNow Hub, you currently only have the option to set Custom Parameters using Campaign ID and Campaign Sub-ID on your Touchpoint Solutions. It is currently not possible to set any additional parameters in RaiseNow Hub. Read more here
Tamaro
With your donation forms (Tamaro widgets), it is possible to set additional parameters for example the donation purpose or any parameter you would like to store with the transaction. Those are called "RaiseNow Parameters", "Supporter Custom Parameters" and "Custom Parameters". You can add as many custom parameters as needed, provided they follow the required structure. They are stored on the transaction and are displayed in the transaction details drawer:
